Aqueous Ozone for Emergency Response

Controlled Ozone Technology offers
First Responders
a limitless supply of decontaiminant.
The implications of war and bio-terrorism have an
impact on both humanity and our environment. The use of ozone technology
addresses both of these issues—safely and effectively. The
nature of ozonated water's technology and versatility allows it
to easily disinfect and decontaminate containers, instruments, equipment,
work areas, drinking water and even people.
Ozone has been proven safe and highly effective in
the bio-hazard arena, providing a more effective alternative for
hospitals, hazardous materials companies, fire stations, ambulances
and the military.
Bio-hazard control for equipment and
personnel
Ask
Purzone about ozone systems taking center stage for use on people,
particularly in decontaminating individuals exposed to bio-hazardous
materials, such as anthrax, for both military and civilian casualties
overseas and on the home front. Current systems can be easily transported
to any environment and to any location in the world. It simply requires
access to any water source. For military applications, ozone systems
can be used both preventatively and proactively, making efficient
use of limited water supplies. Machine's have the ability to supply
safe, ozonated water to a shower cabin or cabins, to then be used
to decontaminate human skin and clothing exposed to bio-warfare
agents.
For example, given 20,000 gallons of water, 800 military
troops can be washed down and de-contaminated. The system will then
collect all the original water, less evaporation, clean it, and
make it available to use all over again.
No storage of decontamination chemicals
Due to the fact that ozone is not a chemical that
is stored, there is no need for special storage conditions, periodic
maintenance requirements and/or consideration of shelf life. Ozone
is produced onsite, the EnviroWash operates on either electrical,
propane or gasoline power and requires the availability of a water
source.
The on-site manufacturing of ozone as an anti-pathogen
has several advantages over conventional and non-conventional cleanup
technologies. The use of other chemicals for disinfection (i.e.
chlorine dioxide) requires that government agencies stockpile the
chemicals in pressurized canisters for emergency use. These stockpiles
must be continuously monitored for viability, in that such chemicals
cannot sustain effectiveness indefinitely. On-site manufacture of
ozone allows for the production of unlimited quantities of disinfecting
substance, thus avoiding the need to stockpile.
Easily and safely adjusts to any toxicity
level
Moreover, on-site manufacture allows for the adjustability
of toxicity through controls on the generating system, where that
option would be difficult to manage in a stockpile format. Ozone
gas is capable of diffusing into crevices and difficult to reach
areas in buildings where anthrax spores might settle, and is a strong
disinfectant in both gaseous and aqueous forms. Ozone is produced
from oxygen by an onsite ozone generator, and it safely decomposes
back to oxygen, leaving no residual after the process is terminated.
